On Tuesday, 20 May 2025, our school hosted an extended lecture on healthy eating—especially snacking—by Dr. Priyanka Verma and Dr. Pallavi, well-known nutrition experts. The lecture provided valuable insights into the importance of healthy eating habits, particularly regarding snacks.
According to Dr. Priyanka, a snack is a small portion of food consumed between meals to curb hunger, boost energy, and support health. She emphasized that snacks should only be taken when one is truly hungry. Some ideal snacks for everyone include:
1. Fresh fruits
2. Nuts and seeds
3. Soups
4. Whole-grain crackers
5. Vegetable sticks with homemade hummus or dips
Precautions to take:
1. Prefer whole grains.
2. Watch portion sizes.
3. Avoid sugary foods.
4. Stay hydrated.
By applying these principles, every child can develop a healthy lifestyle. The lecture was highly informative and well-received by both students and teachers.
